海波 HAI Bo

1962年出生于吉林长春,1984年毕业于吉林艺术学院美术系版画专业。

作为中国最重要的摄影艺术家之一,海波曾于国内外举办多次个展,他的主要个展包括佩斯帕罗奥图空间举办的“海波:南方系列”(2018)、佩斯香港举办的“海波个展”(2016)、佩斯北京举办的“海波”(2012)、纽约佩斯/麦吉尔画廊的海波个展(2011)、华盛顿史密斯索尼亚赛克勒画廊举办的“透视:海波”(2010)等。他参加过的重要群展包括昆士兰美术馆“中国计划”(2009)、纽约大都会艺术博物馆“心灵和天地之旅程”(2007)、 纽约摄影中心“过去与未来之间: 来自中国的新摄影及影片”(2004)、第49届威尼斯双年展(2001)等。

海波曾于2011年获马爹利非凡艺术人物奖、2000年获CCAA中国当代艺术奖。他的作品被现代艺术博物馆、纽约大都会博物馆、华盛顿史密森尼学会阿瑟·M·赛克勒画廊、洛杉矶盖蒂中心、昆士兰美术馆、中国美术馆、广东美术馆等知名机构收藏。

 

Born in Changchun, Jilin in 1962, Hai Bo graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Fine Art Institute of Jilin in 1984.

As one of the most influential photographers in China, Hai Bo has held numerous solo exhibitions around the world. Some of his major exhibitions includes The Southern Series in Pace Gallery, Palo Alto, 2018; solo exhibition Hai Bo in Pace Gallery, Hong Kong, 2016; Hai Bo in Pace Gallery, Beijing, 2012; solo exhibition in Pace/MacGill Gallery, New York, 2011; Perspectives: Hai Bo in Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, 2010. Hai Bo’s artworks have also been presented in group exhibitions such as The China Project, Queensland Art Gallery, 2009; Journeys: Mapping the Earth and Mind in Chinese Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 2007; Past and Future: New Photography and Video from China, International Center of Photography, New York, 2004; 49th La Biennale di Venezia, 2001, etc.

In 2011, Hai Bo was nominated as one of the winners of Martell Artists of the Year. In 2000, he won the Chinese Contemporary Art Award (CCAA). His works are held in various renowned art institutions, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C; The Getty, Los Angeles; Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland; National Art Museum of China, Beijing; The Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou, China.
